The Jacob Meindert was originally an ice breaking tug named Oldeoog. She was purchased at auction by Willem Sligting who, when he first saw her, realised she could make a fast sailing vessel. She was relaunched in 1989 as a two masted topsail schooner. In 2014 she has been completely renovate: the Daf engine  has been overhauled and in july 2016 it has only 150 hours of use. New generator, Diesel heating Webasto 30 kw. Completely new engine room.

Guest cabin: 4 with a double and a single berth each. Bathroom: 2 Crew cabin with 6 beds and bathroom Ample kitchen, dining room with 3 tables and bar equipment.

New masts and new sails made in 2014.

The ship has safety equipment for no limits sailing.
