One of the few Feadships in this category (800-1,000GT) currently for sale.
Delivered in 1993 by world-renowned yacht builder Feadship-De Vries and now for the first time offered for sale. This 51m 817 GT motor yacht Double Haven is an extraordinary expression of a bespoke designed superyacht.
The design vision and principles behind Double Haven were for her to be a state-of-the-art Superyacht capable of crossing any ocean and to be self-reliant, with sufficient fuel, storage and water to be independent of shore services for up to six months.
With her specially designed tender with a range of up to 100 miles, extensive dive equipment and overnight facilities, she is free to explore the most isolated atolls, bays, rivers and islands. Once her tender is launched, a huge beach club is created that meets today's highest standards.
Her full beam superstructure maximises the interior spaces with natural light provided through the large top to floor windows designed to blend in nicely with the yacht’s profile. Double Haven makes a powerful statement with her upper deck, where a luxurious private residence including a fully functional business office is at the owner's disposal. In addition, the yacht has a very well-equipped entertainment and water sports centre. The graceful exterior lines marry form and function in a creation of Dutch excellence.

With the creation of Double Haven, the incredible craftsmen at Feadship, arguably the best builders of Superyachts, the designers, engineers, contractors and above all the owner and his crew have truly achieved a work of art!
The owner drafted six basic principles to govern the build of DOUBLE HAVEN:
In design and function safety has the highest priority
Form should follow function
The materials, construction, and workmanship should be of the highest possible quality
Spaces and equipment should be designed to be multifunctional
All interior areas should be designed for maximum use of space
No detail is too small to overlook
Traffic flow
The traffic flow on board DOUBLE HAVEN was an important consideration during the design, resulting in optimum privacy for owner and guests. The main entry door, staircases and entrances to the guest areas are all on the starboard side, whilst the entrance to the galley, crew’s quarters and captain’s cabin are all on the port side.
DOUBLE HAVEN can be entered via the starboard side main entrance door, directly to the Foyer or, when moored stern to shore, one may enter via the stern. The transom of the yacht represents an ingenious solution to what was probably one of the most taxing design challenges during her construction and expresses one of the smart multifunctionalities of the yacht.
Multifunctional transom
The stern door lowers to deploy the tender providing a large multifunctional watersports and beach club area and a perfect entrance to the yacht. There is direct access to the dive room, tool room and engine room as well as to the stairway leading up to the entrance to the main lounge. When underway the door is raised to protect the main tender “Double Happiness”.
Main deck multifunctional lounges
Passing through the glass doors at the main deck, the aft lounge presents elegant but is designed for more casual living. Between the aft and the main lounge is an entertainment system and full bar facility.
Following an octagonal concept, the main seating area moves to reveal an exquisite marble dance floor. The large floor to ceiling windows of of the main salon allow a panoramic view, even when seated. The beautifully made antique Bhuddas act as attractive center pieces separating the main lounge from the main dining room seating 12 guests.
Foyer, casual dining and bridge
The main entrance door leads to the Foyer on the Starboard side of the yacht and takes you through a sea motif etched glass door that extends the unusual nautical theme developed in the custom made carpets by the famous George Lalogridis and his very talented staff.
The Foyer is the main link to connect to the different deck levels. The circular staircase leads down to the four individually themed guest en- suite state rooms. Forward is the entrance to the casual dining room which is an ideal meeting room for port officials and guests. From the casual dining room there is direct access to the efficient galley installed with the best professional equipment and ample storage space all designed to produce some very fine food! Steps lead to the command centre and wheelhouse with a 220 degree view for safe navigation. The Page 4 of 54 captain’s quarters are not only comfortable but at the same time functional allowing to monitor all of the operational systems of the yacht. It doubles as medical centre.
The wheelhouse has been subject to regular upgrades to stay ahead of technical developments and strict Lloyd’s class requirements.
Upper stateroom & lounge, sun deck
Up from the wheel house leads to a transitional point leading to the upper lounge aft and forward to the piece de resistance of DOUBLE HAVEN, the upper stateroom. While the guests would be expected to frequent the main deck, sun deck and the guest staterooms, their hosts could consider the upper level as their private residence. The main function of the stateroom is a bedroom but it has also been designed to allow the occupants to spend time relaxing and enjoying the incredible 220 degree view over the bow of the yacht. The stateroom includes a magnificent split level dressing room and bathroom.
Aft is the upper deck lounge which was designed as another multifunctional space combining an entertainment centre, office facilities and a kitchenette allowing the occupants of the upper deck to cater for themselves or host dinner parties on their private aft deck with a spectacular view that is different every day of the year.
To top it off is a sundeck with a whirlpool.
Tender
Another feature of DOUBLE HAVEN is her purpose designed and built 30 knots catamaran tender Double Happiness. She is equally at home ferrying guests to and from the yacht as taking them on overnight dive trips in comfort. Her mutifunctionality has proven a very valuable asset on the remote adventures of Double Haven.
Engine room
The engine room is even by todays standards the best in the business and fully reflecting the quality standards and pedigree that stand for Feadship yachts. Main power is 2x 3500 V12 Caterpillars. The on board air management system is by renowned Dutch specialists Heinen and Hopman Engineering and is specified to maintain DOUBLE HAVEN’s interior climate between 20 and 22 degrees Centigrade @ 55% relative humidity no matter the outside temperature. Three Caterpillar generators service the electrical power needs. The two watermakers are capable of producing 34 tons of fresh drinking water per day.
Crew Territory
As is befitting of such a bespoke pedigree vessel the comfort of the 12-14 crew is well taken care off. The port side of the vessel is dedicated to the crew flow in a way that crew and guests can live and work on board without getting under each other’s feet. The crew is provided with a fully equipped mess well lit by natural light. Each of the crew cabins is provided with ample storage and bathroom.
